Fort Canning Park
OIA Recommended Venue for Dinners in Fort Canning Park
RAFFLES HOUSE (till 31st Dec 2009)

“There is use of Raffles House itself, which is about 100 sq meters, which can hold about 10 tables. Tents can also be put up beside the house for more tables. The beautiful thing about this place is that at night, it looks very magical, there are steps in front of the house which leads to the flag staff lawn, where you can have your reception table and guests can mingle around before dinner.
This house is close to the ROM carpark and there is a romantic walk to the house, near the lighthouse and the time ball. Very romantic.”

Fort Canning Park situated at the heart of Singapore’s downtown and set amidst lush greenery and breathtaking views of the city, is the ideal venue for various of outdoor and indoor events. Steeped in history, Fort Canning Hill was once known as “Forbidden Hill”. This is because Malays in the 19th century believed that it was the seat of royalty for rulers of Temasek (or “Sea Town”, an old name for Singapore) in the 1300s.
