Background and Needs
Our understanding of the background and needs:
- Many staffs in most teams could be more motivated – As trivial as it seems it may translate in being more punctual and/or possibly being more productive at all time
- Sometimes, people’s attitude could be more enthusiastic: Are they willing to take ownership?
- Is the working environment creating a context of mutual understanding and respect of people and rules? Are most stakeholders aligned with the key mission?
- Inspiring the team members for a greater alignment with the company / department vision, while avoiding being stuck in blames and negativity
- How to foster the right attitudes and skills like developing emotional intelligence or other heart skills?
Objectives
Our approach to addressing these needs:
- The fundamental understanding that can create the shift is to focus on the positive. This can be done through appreciative inquiry.
- It is key to not blame but claim responsibility for making the shift.
- Acceptance of what the current reality is plus building Optimism can help a lot. Acceptance is very different from resignation.
- Understanding feelings and dealing with employees instead of suppressing and denying which is a natural human tendency.
- The shift from Compliance to Commitment.
One of the key aspects of the training will be to focus on how we might enable people to discover the source of Motivation so that it comes from within and not from outside- then it becomes Inspiration. As people discover their “greatness” they are able to move beyond effectiveness. Of course, the process in doing so will take more than a day but a spark can be ignited, which will have to be sustained.
